April 2021 Infobase Update- Academic

Finding the Solution!

In the spring of 2020, Infobase undertook a significant shift in our “go to market” strategy. It took place over several months, and there was a great deal else going on in the world, but a current visit to Infobase.com will make this clear– We’re selling solutions.

Infobase has raised its profile significantly with thought leadership marketing campaigns (these are the emails, white papers and webinars that offer education to librarians, administrators, teachers and other faculty), these campaigns bring in leads to Infobase. We evaluate these leads and provide them to you as prospects to follow-up with.

When you reach out current and prospective customers, I’d like to ask you to remember that the right questions from you about the challenges they are facing will prompt your customer to engage with the Infobase resources you propose as solutions, whether for the library, the classroom, the career center or all of the above!

Some sample questions to offer– as well as some responses that bring in Infobase products.

Are you frustrated by the challenges of reminding your faculty to use the resources the library has? [Many of our resources have great resources to encourage usage, like widgets, QR codes to direct pages, and more]
Are your students entering your institution with the essential digital literacy skills to start their academic careers? If not, how are you meeting the challenge of creating digital literacy courseware? [Offer to send a white paper on Information literacy, and follow-up with a look at Infolit]
Are you looking for ways to help your teaching faculty decrease the amount of time it takes them to prepare their syllabi? [Many of our resources offer advanced LTI connections that can make the content discoverable in whatever LMS your faculty are creating their courses in]
I’m sure you have many questions like this from your own experiences– I’d be interested in hearing what questions you’ve offered that have engaged your customers. Please free to let me know what has worked for you, as well as to contact me with any questions.

All the best,

Ben Jacobs
Director, Licensing and Business Development
